Log in to the Proquest platform for NHS databases

 Complete your in-depth literature search using Proquest databases. To search the Proquest databases you'll need to log in using your NHS OpenAthens.

Which databases can you search?

Proquest is host to a range of specialist, research, healthcare databases, purchased for NHS users. You can search the British Nursing Index (BNI), Medline, PsycArticles and PsychInfo databases.

How to log in to the Proquest platform

1. Find the Proquest Link

Get quick access to Proquest by linking straight from our NHS Resources page. If you work for North Staffs Combined Healthcare or GP practices in Staffordshire or CCGs in Staffordshire please click the relevant button to go to your page of resources.

Page down to the Literature Searching via Databases section and click the Proquest link. This will take you straight to the openathens route to login.

2. Manage cookies

Check your cookies options if presented with this screen.

3. Select the NHS institution

Enter NHS In England as the institution, click the search button and select NHS in England from the list presented.

4. Log in using your NHS OpenAthens username

Enter your NHS OpenAthens username and click Sign in.

5. Proquest home page

You will now be presented with the Proquest search page. You can run basic searches or select Advanced Search on the top menu bar.

You can focus your search by running it against a particular database by selecting only the databases you need.

6. Choose a database

In the Select Databases page you can tick the databases you want to search.

Login to Library Search – step-by-step instructions for NHS staff

You can search Library Search without logging in to view books and ebooks available in our collections.
