Healthcare evidence and knowledge now a simple search away

 NHS staff make a multitude of health and care decisions every single day. The challenge of ensuring these decisions are based on the latest insight married with decades of evidence and research is being met head-on with the arrival of a brand-new online search. Health Education England (HEE) has introduced the new NHS Knowledge and Library Hub as a ‘one-stop’ gateway which, for the first time nationally, connects NHS staff and learners seamlessly to a significant range of free, high-quality knowledge and evidence resources, services, databases, all in one place. Each trust has a tailored view of the Hub. Your library team has worked with HEE to ensure that when our staff use our version of the Hub includes links to all locally-funded resources as well as nationally funded resources. New Asthma Healthcare Hub from Elsevier

 NHS staff working for UHNM will be interested in the latest healthcare hub launched by Elsevier. The new   Asthma Healthcare Hub   includes clinical resources focused on the latest evidence-based treatments and tools to help your patients manage this chronic disease. Visit the site to explore: Clinical overviews  on asthma in adults and children Resources you can share with your patients, including  educational videos  and  drug information pages  that answer common questions. Care plans  and  nursing skills  covering asthma exacerbation in pregnancy, medication administration, and more. You can now get to the information you need quickly via the updated Clinical Key search interface . Quick search Use the simple search box to run a quick search against Clinical Key content. You can include all content or select a specific type such as books, journals, overviews, trials, multi-media etc. You can then use the filters to narrow down your results. Point-of-care decision support You can now easily browse for evidence-based information to support point of care clinical decision making, treatment options and care of your patients. Stay up-to-date with the latest journals published on the Oxford platform

  Our NHS users can access a collection of journals on the Oxford platform. You can easily stay up-to-date with your favourite titles by setting up an alert or eTOC. You’ll then get an email with details of the latest issue in your inbox. Follow these step-by-step instructions to find whether we subscribe to the journal title you need. Check our previous blog post to learn what an eTOC is. Set up an alert on a journal from Oxford by following the steps below: How to set up a journal alert on an Oxford journal title 1. Link to the Oxford platform I am going to set up an etoc alert for the journal Brain which is published by Oxford. Click the link for Oxford on the journal title entry on the NHS A-Z journals list.
