Going Mobile with NHS Resources

I thought I would share with you some of the links and apps that I've added to my tablet that cover many of our NHS-based resources. Some are freely available, others will required your NHS OpenAthens login details. You will often need an Internet connection to access the content. Links on the Home Screen This is a list of resources that might be useful to you. These are all provided via your browser. Go to the link to view the resources. By selecting your browser menu you should get an option that allows you to add the link to your device home page. BMJ Best Practice is an online evidence-based support tool, available to all NHS users via OpenAthens login. Install the app to get access to recommendations and guidelines on the go. Installation Instructions: 1. Go to the desktop version of BMJ Best Practice and log in with your OpenAthens username. 2. Create your personal BMJ account 3. Go to your app store and search for BMJ Best Practice 4. Download the app from BMJ 5. Install the app and open it 6. Log in with your personal BMJ account 7. Start searching! Using BMJ Best Practice: BMJ Best Practice provide you with topic pages for a wide range of conditions and diseases. Select the topic from your search results. You are presented with a number of sections; select the one you want to read. Information is presented in an easy-to-read format. Dynamed - get this point-of-care support tool for information on the go

Dynamed is an evidence-based reference tool, providing access to recommendations and guidance on a wide range of conditions and diseases. Get the app for info on the go. Dynamed is available to our UHNM users via OpenAthens. Installation Instructions: 1. Go to the desktop version and log in with your OpenAthens username  2. Create your personal ebsco account 3. Go to your app store and search for Dynamed 4. Download the app from Ebsco 5. Install and open it. 6. On the authentication screen, select the option "sign in" at the top 7. Sign in with your ebsco personal account details 8. Choose the installation you want The option you choose will depend on how much space you are happy for the app to take up on your phone and whether you are happy to still rely on an Internet connection. 9. Cochrane Library App - keep up-to-date with the latest systematic reviews

The Cochrane Library app releases monthly updates highlighting selected key systematic reviews published. Abridged versions of the reviews are presented in an easy-to-read format. Installation Instructions: 1. Go to your app store and search for the Cochrane Library 2. Install the app from the Cochrane Collaboration and open it. 3. Get started straight way - no login required! Using the Cochrane Library App: Select the edition you want to read and download it to your device. You can see all the editions you have downloaded by selecting the Download button. To remove any editions, click the Edit option and then select the edition to send to the bin. Note that if you delete an edition it will remove any bookmarked items in that edition. When you are reading an edition, tap the menu icon to see the table of contents. You can also use the search box here to search this edition. Clinical Key is a clinical search engine, helping you to find the answers you need. You can search on the go and access all the great full-text content on your mobile device. Clinical Key is only available to our UHNM staff members via OpenAthens login. Installation Instructions: 1. Go to your App Store and search for Clinical Key 2. Get the BNF on the Go - Going Mobile in Libraries Week

You can access up-to-date information about drugs and medicines from the BNF (British National Formulary) and the BNFc (British National Formulary for Children). Now access it on the go via your mobile device. Both the BNF and the BNFc are available in the same app and this is available to all NHS staff. Installation Instructions: 1.
