Your access to EBSCO databases will continue to be via the Health library website and your existing NHS OpenAthens login. The account you use to save things (My EBSCO) will be retained although some content will be lost if you do not act. What do I need to do? Will I lose my saved searches? If you do not use EBSCOhost or ebsco databases then no action is required. If you do use EBSCOhost or ebsco databases then ther...

Problems exporting references from Cinahl to RefWorks

We have had reports of users experiencing problems exporting references from Cinahl into RefWorks. This may also be affecting other ebsco databases. The providers are working on the problem and we hope there is a solution soon. In the meantime the following instructions have been issued as a work-around: In Cinahl select and export your references to a RIS file Go to RefWorks (new) and login to import the RIS file Select the + sign and then select Import references. Under the heading "Import from a file" drag and drop or select the file generated by the export. The system will try to determine the format; if it does not identify the RIS Format select it from the drop down and click import. The data will show up in the last imported area. Apologies for the inconvenience.

Merging Ebsco Accounts

If you have inadvertently created more than 1 personal account on an ebsco database (such as Cinahl or Medline), you can now merge those accounts, so that you only have the one account. You usually create a personal account in order to save articles, searches and alerts. Users who have personal folders associated with two accounts are now able to merge them into one chosen account. Users who have more than two accounts can repeat the process until all accounts are merged into one. Benefits to merging personal user accounts: You will need to remember only one set of login credentials. All saved articles, searches, alerts, images, videos, etc., will be stored in one folder location. Once accounts are merged, the account that contained the data that was merged into the target account is permanently removed. To merge your accounts: Full details on how to merge your accounts is available on the Ebsco help page . Note that you will need to have the userid/ password fo...
