Resource of the week #17: Cinahl

What is it? The Cinahl database is the Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature. It is a key database allowing you to search across a range of nursing and allied health focused publications, so that you can find articles for your search. Key Features We provide access to the Cinahl database via 2 routes: Ebsco databases – for Keele staff and students HDAS databases – for NHS staff Both these routes allow you to use the following functionality: Perform simple and advanced searching Use thesaurus searching Save searches Export results Access some full-text articles How can it help you? Resource of the week #16: PEDro

What is it? PEDro is a physiotherapy evidence database. It provides a searchable database of hundreds of thousands of high-level research papers such as: Randomised controlled trials Systematic reviews Clinical practice guidelines Where possible a link to the full-text is given, however you may need to check our (Keele and NHS) databases for access or request an inter-library loan. Key Features You can use the simple search interface or the advanced search interface to search for publications. Resource of the week #15: NICE Pathways

What is it? NICE Pathways are interactive flowcharts for topics and conditions Key Features You can use the main search box to look for your topic, or use the A-Z list to find a particular condition. You can also view broader topics and drill-down to individual flowcharts. Flowcharts include points of decision-making as a patient travels along the pathway or route to assessment, diagnosis and treatment. Each decision-box includes information and evidence detailing what should be carried out. How can it help you? The NICE Pathways tool can provide you with guidance and advice on topics and conditions. It can help you to assess your own services and apply NICE guidance and recommendations. How to access it?
