NHS OpenAthens Checklist

All NHS staff can register for an NHS OpenAthens username / password. This will give you access to a wide range of online resources such as ebooks, ejournals and databases. Make sure you follow the NHS OpenAthens checklist to set up your account quickly. Checklist 1. Register online Complete the online form to register for your account. 2. Enter your NHS details Make sure you enter your NHS email address and work details. Your application can then be processed automatically. 3. Select the correct NHS organisation We support 3 Athens groups. Make sure you enter the correct organisation that represents where you work: University Hospitals of North Midlands, North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare or GPs and CCGs in Staffordshire. 4. Log on Use your OpenAthens username / password to log on to NHS-subscribed resources. You'll find a full list of resources on our A-Z resources web page . 5. Reset your password Remember that you can reset your password if you forget it - use the option

Pediatrics journal access route change

The Pediatrics journal is available to UHNM staff. Access was previously by library username / password. This has now changed and you need to use your NHS OpenAthens username to log in. Make sure you select the OpenAthens option when logging in. Log in options for Pediatrics

I have been sent the following information, from NICE, regarding Clinical Knowledge Summaries updates for the past 3 months. Clinical Knowledge Summaries are designed to support primary care and provide guidance and recommendations on a wide range of healthcare conditions. April A new topic on  Coronavirus COVID 19  was created and continuously updated throughout the last 3 months. Other CKS topics updated in April include: Chest infections – adult  –  Links to the COVID-19 management scenario have been added in the Assessment section and the Management of community-acquired pneumonia section to highlight that assessment of suspected chest infection and management of community-acquired pneumonia will differ during the COVID-19 pandemic.
