Ebsco are running training during July to demonstrate the new interfaces for ebscohost databases (Cinahl and medline) and the NHS Knowledge and Library Hub.  The NHS Knowledge and Library Hub allows you to execute simple searches across a wide range of resources. The results list can often be quite extensive. Use the filters to focus your search results. The K&L Hub offers you a wide range of filters. From the initial search results page you can select: Full-text – whether the item is available to you in full-text Peer reviewed – whether articles have been peer reviewed Date – short range of publication dates to select. Note that you can customise the publication date range further in the All filters panel Source type – such as books, articles, reports, reviews ect The All filters button will reveal the filters panel. You can see what filters you have already selected and choose from a wide range.   Easily link to full-text articles from your search results list on the NHS Knowledge & Library Hub. There are a range of options that may be presented to you depending on the availability of the article.   Make sure you have logged in to NHS OpenAthens to ensure all your resources are included in the search results. Our blog post NHS OpenAthens Login on the NHS Knowledge and Library Hub shows you how. In the new interface of the K&L Hub you may be presented with a range of access options. They are listed below. Note that the options presented will depend on the availability of the article as open access or subscribed, and whether it is available within the ebsco databases or not. You will always get the option to request an item if you need to request an inter-library loan or just in case you have problems reaching the full-text.   Do you feel confident searching databases? Do you struggle to find precise search terms and combinations? Don’t worry! You can use natural language to search on the NHS Knowledge and Library Hub. You can run simple searches on the NHS Knowledge and Library Hub to explore a wide range of resources. What do I mean by natural language? Well, it’s using sentences and words that you use in conversation, as if you were talking to a colleague. How can you do it? Go to the NHS Knowledge and Library Hub. Enter your question in the search box – just like you were asking a colleague. Tick the natural language option and click search. Articles matching your question will be listed in the results list. Want to know what it searches for? Just click the option Show refined query and a pop-up box will show you how the Hub has constructed the query to run against the resources.   Although the NHS Knowledge and Library Hub is great for running simple searches, you might want to complete more detailed searching on a database. You can link to the databases straight from the Hub. Simply search for the database name and you’ll get an information card for that database, with a link straight to the database, saving you lots of time. Typical databases to look for are Cinahl, Medline, Emcare and Embase.  Get the best evidence for a range of conditions and disease by searching the NHS Knowledge and Library Hub and limiting the results to BMJ Best Practice. Use the new BMJ Best Practice filter.   You can select from a wide range of filters to focus your search results, such as full-text, peer reviewed, publication date, major subject heading, publisher and content provider. Now added to this list is BMJ Best Practice. This gives you an easy way to view BMJ Best Practice content.  NHS staff can get quick access to articles from your NHS resources via the Ebsco mobile app. This app gives you access to a simplified version of the NHS Knowledge & Library Hub. Great features include: Simple search across multiple NHS resources Read articles and some ebooks Listen to text whilst on the go Bookmark links to articles Share articles with your colleagues To install the App Search your store for Ebsco Mobile Download and install the app To log in first select "Access with your institution" – search for your institution name. Check which institution name you need  from our web page Enter your NHS OpenAthens username / password. You will now be logged in. You can start a search, browse recently viewed content, link to full-text, bookmark content and share content.  Search the NHS Knowledge & Library Hub to find healthcare information from a wide range of NHS-based sources. Your results may include thousands of items. Focus your search results to make it easier to find what you need. There are a number of filters you can use: Publication Date Source Type Subject Publication Publisher Language Databases The screen-shots below are taken from a search. The hit counts and elements available will vary depending on your results. Note that each filter you apply builds on the previous selection, so you should see your number of results decreasing with each selection. Publication Date Use this filter to focus on the latest information or a specific date range.  Got an article title you want to find but don’t have the full reference? Maybe a colleague has told you about a good article to read but they don’t have all the details. How can you find it?
