Get the form from our website or pick one up at the library. Here’s a little help to complete the form:

1. Let us know who you are – provide your full name

2. Let us know about your workplace – we use you job and workplace details to fine tune your evidence just for you.

3. What are you interested in? Let us know about the clinical conditions or risk factors that you want to know about. This might include long term conditions, physical diseases, mental health conditions or lifestyle risk factors. [Note you can leave this blank if you are not looking for clinical information.]

4. Add your professional interests. This might include more managerial or educational topics such as service delivery, patient safety, managing people or research. [Note you can leave this blank if you are not looking for this type of information.].

You must have entered something for either conditions or professional interests.

5 If you are looking for information about patients help us to focus the results by providing an age group.

6. Let us know the healthcare settings you are interested in – is it in the community or a GP practice, in an acute hospital on the wards, outpatient clinic or theatre?

You can use KnowledgeShare to share your interests and connect with other KnowledgeShare members either within your own Trust or with the wider community.

7. You can choose to share your contact information with other members of KnowledgeShare. Tick the box if you want to do this.

8. You can choose to share your professional interests with other members of KnowledgeShare. Tick the box if you want to do this.

9. The library service is hoping to develop library bulletins in the future. You can choose to receive these by ticking this box.

10. Make sure that your read the privacy statement on the second page. Then sign and date it to indicate that you agree to allow us to sign you up.

Once we have created your profile you will receive a welcome email. Then you’ll start to receive your bulletins from your assigned librarian. If you need anything changing to your bulletins please contact your assigned librarian and we’ll adjust your profile.

Article integrity checks for NHS staff

Want to have extra quality and integrity checks for the articles you find? Use library NHS resources and get warnings if the article you're reading fails integrity checks. NHS resources use LibKey to easily point you to subscribed resources. Now LibKey also does a number of integrity checks to help you feel confident with the articles you find. You’ll get warnings about: Retracted articles Retracted article citation (where an article includes references to articles which have been retracted) Expression of concern for the article (where publishers have concerns about some aspect of a published article) Problematic publishers information Warnings are presented at point of access whether from article links in databases or on the web via LibKey Nomad. Login to Library Search – step-by-step instructions for NHS staff

  Library Search is a discovery tool, allowing you to find items within the library collections. You can search Library Search without logging in to view books and ebooks available in our collections. By logging in to your library account on Library Search you can access a range of additional functionality, such as: Viewing details of your library account Submitting a request to hold a book for you Adding items to your e-bookshelf Saving searches Note that for NHS users logging in to Library Search does not give you access to full-text items. As an NHS member of staff you access online resources using your NHS OpenAthens username. Anatomy of a Library Card First let’s take a quick look at the most important components of your library card. Your library card and library card number give you access to print resources as well as library services. They confirm that you are a member of the library.
