BMJ Best Practice is an NHS core content resource - provided centrally by HEE and made available to all users who have a valid NHS-based OpenAthens account. Students on NHS-sponsored healthcare-based courses are eligible for NHS/HEI OpenAthens accounts. This is an NHS-based account, available to students throughout their course and provides access to all resources within the NHS core content collection. These are set up for eligible Keele students and are managed by Campus Library (see either Paul Johnson or Steve Parton). We have received reports of a couple of problems that students have come across whilst trying to log in to BMJ Best Practice. When encountering problems with BMJ BP access try the following: Check you are using your NHS OpenAthens account. The username starts with NHSac - it should be active, eligible and within date If you can't remember your password, you can reset it online yourself. BMJ Best Practice is a clinical decision support tool, offering you a wealth of information to support patient care. It is available to all NHS staff in England. I am revising the instructions for logging in as some users recently experienced problems. Route 1: via the Health Library website This method takes you straight to the OpenAthens login page.    1. Go to the NHS Resources page on the Health Library website    2. Find the entry for BMJ Best Practice and click the link    3. Enter your NHS OpenAthens username / password and click Submit Route 2: via BMJ Best Practice home page You will need to select your institution via this method.    1. Search Google for BMJ Best Practice or go directly to their website    2. Click Login (top right)    3. Select the Access through Your Institution option    4. Go to your app store and search for BMJ Best Practice 4. Download the app from BMJ 5. Install the app and open it 6. Log in with your personal BMJ account 7. Start searching! Using BMJ Best Practice: BMJ Best Practice provide you with topic pages for a wide range of conditions and diseases. Select the topic from your search results. You are presented with a number of sections; select the one you want to read. Information is presented in an easy-to-read format.
