NICE HDAS will be switched off Friday 3rd March 2017

Hello, here is the latest information we have been sent regarding old HDAS:
__________________________________________________________

Old HDAS will be permanently unavailable from Friday 3rd March 2017.

Please see the reminders below of what you need to do to prepare for this. In particular we would like to draw your attention to the reminder to update any links you might have, both to HDAS as well as to the journals and database page.

What do I need to do?

1.       Ensure you have completed the migration of your saved searches and alerts
For those who haven’t already done so, you should ensure that you have completed the migration of your saved searches and alerts. All saved searches and alerts set up from 2008 onwards in old HDAS (and in the BETA version) have been migrated to the new system. This has been semi-automated and there is a piece of work for you to complete the migration. While you will still be able to migrate your saved searches once old HDAS is switched off, you will no longer receive any alerts from old HDAS, so these will need to be migrated into new HDAS from your saved searches.
To complete the migration of your searches and alerts, when you log in you will see anImport link at the top of the page, next to Saved Results and Alerts:
·         click on the Import link and you will see a drop-down list of years
·         select a year, and then you will see the list of your saved searches and alerts from that year
·         select the ones that you want to import.
Things you should be aware of:
·         Migration may take some time, so please set some time aside to let this run. This will depend on how many saved searches and results you choose to bring across
·         Only bring across the searches you need
·         You will need to go into your searches and run them in the new system
·         Alerts will be on the final line of the strategy only. You will have to go into each strategy to change this if you want alerts on other lines within a strategy.
·         Alerts will continue to be sent from the old HDAS until it is switched off
2.       Ensure that you are familiar with the new HDAS service
Please visit the HDAS resources page https://www.nice.org.uk/about/nice-communities/library-and-knowledge-services-staff/training-materials.  These pages include training guides, details of the differences between the old and new systems and short video tutorials on how to use all of the key features.
3.       Updated links
If you haven’t already done so, we also advise you to replace any saved links you have to the old HDAS with the new web address https://hdas.nice.org.uk/   You may also need to update any links you have on your intranet. The URL for the page www.library.nhs.uk has changed to https://www.nice.org.uk/about/what-we-do/evidence-services/journals-and-databases. The URL for the journals and databases page will also change tohttps://journals.nice.org.uk/.
