Set up a desktop icon for your NHS Knowledge and Library Hub

 Add your NHS Knowledge and Library Hub to your desktop for quick access and start your searching straight away.

Please note: The URL or link that you need for your Hub is unique to the organisation you work for. The links available for the organisations that the Health Library supports are:

  • University Hospitals of North Midlands (UHNM): https://search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?authtype=guest&custid=ns124878&groupid=main&profile=hee_eds 
  • North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare: https://search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?authtype=guest&custid=ns128745&groupid=main&profile=hee_eds
  • GPs, GP practice staff and CCG staff in Staffordshire: https://search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?authtype=guest&custid=ns128746&groupid=main&profile=hee_eds
The instructions below are for a windows PC. Please go to the HEE Library Service website for any other instructions.

Add a desktop short-cut to your NHS Knowledge and Library Hub

  1. Right click on an empty space on the desktop of your computer.
  2. Highlight “New” and then click on “Shortcut”.
  3. Under “Type location of the item” copy and paste the relevant URL from above.
  4. Click "Next" and then enter a display name for your shortcut.  We recommend using NHS Knowledge and Library Hub.
  5. Click “Finish.”

Add the NHS Knowledge and Library Hub icon to your short-cut

  1. The Hub icon is available from the HEE Library Service web page, at the bottom of the page. Download Hub desktop icon.ico and save it to your Documents folder. Note you may need to move it from your Download folder to your Documents folder.
  2. Right click on your new desktop item and select “Properties”.
  3. Click on “Change icon.”
  4. Click “Browse” and locate the appropriate icon you saved in Step 1.
  5. Select the file name of the icon you saved, and click “Open.”
  6. Make sure the icon you want is highlighted, then click “OK.”
  7. Click “OK” again.
