Oxford Handbooks Online for UHNM Staff

 What is it?

Oxford Handbooks Online are the online version of the very popular print Oxford Handbooks. We have a range of specialty titles. You’ll find an in-depth overview of the topics covered, along with authoritative guidance. The online format presents you with easy-to-read content, accessible via PC or mobile device.

How to Access…

Who is it for?

We have a collection of titles especially for our UHNM staff. [Note that other texts are available for other user groups via Library Search]

Log in

You will find a list of titles on the Health Library website

To access the full-text you will need your NHS OpenAthens username / password. Click the link for the relevant text on the Health Library webpage and then log in when prompted.

If you use an alternative route; on the Oxford Medicine website click the "sign in" option (on the LHS of the page); click the option "Sign in via your institution" in the login box; select "NHS England" from the drop-down box; then login with your Athens username/password.

Be aware that these titles, as available to UHNM staff only, are not present on the library catalogue Library Search. Other handbook titles as well as a wide collection of ebooks are available via Library Search.

Login to Library Search – step-by-step instructions for NHS staff

  Library Search is a discovery tool, allowing you to find items within the library collections. You can search Library Search without logging in to view books and ebooks available in our collections. By logging in to your library account on Library Search you can access a range of additional functionality, such as: Viewing details of your library account Submitting a request to hold a book for you Adding items to your e-bookshelf Saving searches Note that for NHS users logging in to Library Search does not give you access to full-text items.
