Searching NHS Databases using HDAS

HDAS or Healthcare Databases Advanced Search, is the common search interface that allows you to use the same interface and options to search the different databases provided nationally by the NHS. You can complete a literature search to find articles on a wide range of healthcare topics.

The databases available include major medical and nursing databases such as AMED, CINAHL, Embase, Emcare, Medline and PsychInfo.

HDAS is available to all NHS staff. You will need your OpenAthens username / password to login. Note that you must login in order to access the advanced searching options and all the databases available.

I have created a sway presentation that takes you through some of the major features that will help you to complete a literature search. Here you will find links to video demonstrations, created by NICE, to show you how to use the various features and put your literature search together.
