What is it?

Embase is an online bibliographic database that focuses on drug and pharmacological topics.

Key Features

The database covers:

- Over 30 million abstracts and indices from more than 8,500 published, peer-reviewed journals, as well as in-press publications and conferences
- More than 6 million records and indexes 2,900 journals NOT covered in MEDLINE
- Full-text indexing of drug, disease and medical device data, supported by the precise Emtree thesaurus

How can it help you?

You can search the database for articles and research studies relating to drugs and medicines as well as biotechnology subjects.

How to access it?

This resource is only available to NHS users. The NHS subscription is with Embase via the Ovid platform. It is one of the key resources available via HDAS. You will need to log on with your NHS openathens username.
