Help Creating Posters for Presentations / Conferences

Following a discussion with fellow librarians about how to create conference posters, I thought that I would share a couple of the resources mentioned:

Scientific Poster Design – from Cornell University, NY
Here are a few hints and tips about the content of your poster; what to include, how to present information, how to format text, how to make it readable, how to use images and graphics, preparing handouts.

This document goes into a lot of details about how to use Powerpoint, you may already know some of it. But pay attention to the sections at the beginning relating to how to set up and format a Powerpoint slide to act as a poster.

Hope these are useful. If anyone has any other resources to share, please add them in the comments.
