Resource of the week #14: New Year Resolutions

Happy New Year to everyone.

This weeks “resource of the week” takes inspiration from the new year and the resolutions we always try to make (and keep). With this in mind here are a few resources to help you to get out and about and involved in the local community.

Opportunities listed via the Local Councils:

Local Groups to get out and about with:

Wildlife Trusts Volunteering – find the local Staffordshire Group
Friends of Hartshill Park – join a local group to help look after one of our local parks
National Trust Volunteers – lots of different opportunities with the National Trust; you can search for something local
New Vic Volunteers – you can help to support of local theatre
KeeleSU Volunteering – lots of different opportunities for students at Keele University Students
Big Sleep Out at Stoke City FC – a charity event running in February (brrrrr!)

National Initiatives:

Do-it volunteering database – check the do-it database for activities and opportunities across the country
Action for Happiness – ideas to help you to spread a little cheer; try this calendar (I know it’s for December but you can apply the ideas to any month). If one action everyday seems daunting, start small and try one a week.
